GLACIERLAND RC&D, INC.: AIS Education & Outreach Manitowoc County
Glacierland RC & D is sponsoring a project to fund a half time AIS coordinator for Manitowoc County. This coordinator will also serve as a half time AIS coordinator for Sheboygan County, under a different grant contract (AEPP48416).
Project final deliverables include: a minimum of 200 hours of CBCW hours in 2019; monitoring results (written report and SWIMS data entry) and a report compiling accomplishments of project activities.
Specific project activities include: 1) participation in outreach activities to include Project RED, AIS Bridge Snapshot Day, Drain Campaign, Landing Blitz, Bait Shop Initiative, Habitatitude, and Waterfowl Hunters; 2) give AIS educational presentations to Lake Districts, Lake Associations, local units of government, schools and other interested conservation groups ; 3) assist the DNR AIS monitoring coordinator with initial response monitoring for NR 40 prohibited and restricted species ; 4) conduct DNR standard AIS protocol monitoring on a minimum of two lakes; 6) assist local municipalities with the installation of cleaning kiosks and 7) reports compiling accomplishments for each submitted reimbursement request.
Special Conditions: 1) All CBCW data and monitoring data shall be entered into the SWIMS database.
This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
