RIVER ALLIANCE OF WISCONSIN: New Zealand Mudsnail Containment
The River Alliance of Wisconsin proposes to educate people, primarily stream users in Wisconsin\2019s driftless area, about how to contain New Zealand Mudsnails (NZM), and slow their spread from stream to stream. In addition to training people who use streams, they will train stakeholder groups to magnify their efforts. They will install signs, and distribute other outreach materials at streamside and at events. They will also install brushes and wash stations at priority sites. All this will be accomplished by hiring a coordinator, who will in turn work with many volunteers. Results of this project will be shared with the NZM response team and key partners as well as via River Alliance newsletter, website, and social media.
