BLACK OAK LAKE RIPARIAN OWNERS ASSOC: Black Oak Lake Watershed Protection Program - Phase 3
Black Oak Lake Riparian Owners Association is sponsoring a large scale lake planning grant to continue to study Black Oak Lake in Vilas County with a study completion date of December 31, 2008. The project will focus on establishing a baseline of the littoral zone and riparian area condition in order to monitor lake and riparian ecosystem quality and stability in the future for Black Oak Lake.
Project activities include:
1) Document the littoral zone and riparian area condition using digital photography
2) Qualitatively document the littoral zone and riparian area using a volunteer-based rapid assessment technique
3) Quantitatively document the littoral zone and riparian area using the USEPA Lake Assessment Procedure along with the WDNR Supplemental Lakeshore Assessment
4) Integrate Phase 3 results into the Black Oak Lake Adaptive Management Plan
