BUTTERNUT-FRANKLIN LAKES IMPROVEMENT ASSOC: Butternut & Franklin Lakes Management Planning Project
Butternut-Franklin Lakes Association, Inc is sponsoring a large scale lake planning grant to study Butternut Lake and Franklin Lake, in Forest County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Butternut Lake and Franklin Lake.
Project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation 2013 stakeholder survey, planning meetings (up to 2), kick-off meeting, wrap-up meeting, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Water quality sampling and analysis; 3) Watershed assessment and P load modeling; 4) Fisheries assessment; 5) Shoreline assessment; 5) Professional Dreissena monitoring; 6) Curly-leaf pondweed survey, Point Intercept (PI) survey, and aquatic plant community mapping; 7) Data analysis and develop LMP; 8) Volunteer watercraft inspections.
