Bearskin lake has been evaluated every two-year cycle from 2012 to 2024 for phosphorus and algae. Excess algal growth and algal blooms were identified, though phosphorus were below criteria. This lake was put on the Impaired Waters List in the 2016 cycle. Evaluation of aquatic plant surveys in the 2022 cycle indicated a healthy plant community.Pollutant
