Lake Neshonoc is an impoundment of the La Crosse River beginning at the La Crosse River dam (river mile 17.9) and continuing upstream for approximately 1.2 miles (river mile 19.1). Lake Neshonoc is impaired by total phosphorus, total suspended solids, and mercury. The Special Fish Consumption Listing for PCBs was removed in 2012.

This water was assessed during the 2014 listing cycle; total phosphorus sample data exceed 2014 WisCALM listing thresholds for the Recreation use and Fish and Aquatic Life use.
