Lakes Planning Report

Eau Claire County, Land Conservation Division, proposes to conduct an evaluation of internal nutrient loading and water quality study on Lake Eau Claire. Eau County will enter a partnership involving, Lake Eau Claire Association, August High School Biology Class and the Army Corp of Engineers.In-lake stations will be monitored biweekly during ice-free conditions, with samples taken at 1 meter intervals between the surface and the bottom. Phytoplankton samples will also be taken once a month. In-lake samples and sediment core sample will be studied in detail for phosphorous as stated in the application. This is task two of a three part task. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by fact sheet distribution, public meetings, local newspaper articles, TV/radio spots, and a poster display.
