The Polk County Land & Water Resources Department will conduct a comprehensive lake management planning project involving two phases of study and evaluation on Magnor Lake in Polk County. Phase 1 project activities include; delineating the watershed, compiling of historical data, conducting a comprehensive in-lake water quality survey, conducting a critical habitats survey, compiling a comprehensive land use and soils inventory with phosphorus loadings estimates, monitoring lake level and precipitation, conducting a lake bottom hydrographic survey update, conducting a shoreline video documentation survey, compiling fisheries census and management data, and conducting an on-going public participation, media involvement , and information and education program. The results of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 study projects will be combined to generate a comprehensive lake management plan for Lake Magnor and the watershed.
