VILLAGE OF CHENEQUA: Pine Lake Aquatic Plant Control Assessment

Purpose

The Village of Chenequa proposes to assess the effectiveness of the aquatic plant control program. Project activities will establish a baseline condition of aquatic plants in those portions of the lake traditionally treated with aquatic herbicides and include 1) compilation of a photographic record of the extent of aquatic plant growth, 2) determination of the species composition, density of occurrence, and frequency of occurance of aquatic plants, and 3) production of a map of the aquatic plant distribution. A final report will be produced discussing the project results. A paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report will be provided to the Department of Natural Resources. Information on the project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter mailing and public meeting.
