Town of Hazelhurst proposes to develop a comprehensive land use plan and implementation strategies to address the land and water issues in the Town. The Town proposes to work closely with Oneida County?s lake classification program to create a land use plan that matches appropriate land uses with the specific class of lakes in the watershed. An overall educational component for both citizens and local officials will be part of the project deliverables along with the following components; 1) a vision statement, 2) Socio- Economic profile, 3) assess housing characteristics, 4) inventory and map community facilities and services, 5) complete inventory of transportation systems, 6) research and analyze physical and biological characteristics of land and water resources, 7) complete an accurate land use inventory with future projections, 8) implementation strategies will be based on protection of the town?s nature resource base and encouraged to make the best use of that resource.
