Lake Classification Project

Shawano County proposes to conduct a watershed classification project. This project will consist of a matrix of lakes and rivers in the county categorized by development impacts, recreation activity, damage susceptibility, etc.; extensive I&E with a series of policy statements and recommendations to discision making bodies; proposed resource protection strategies to be included in the county's comprehensive plan; documentation of the inventory and evaluation of applicable existing ordinances and management strategies; interim reports every 12 months; and a final report summarizing the project development, achievements and deliverables, including GIS data and maps in a format compatible with the Department.
