The project will take place in the Military Ridge Prairie Heritage Area. The diverse partnership of conservation organizations are protecting and restoring a patchwork of prairies and other grassland habitats along the Dane and Iowa County border. The main intent of the restoration work described in this proposal is to return a stretch of the East Branch of the Pecatonica River and its flood plain to as close to its pre-European settlement condition as possible.
