BALSAM LAKE P & R DISTRICT: ACQ-Bass Bay Property Acquisition

Purpose

The Balsam Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District is proposing to purchase a vacant lot on Balsam Lake in Polk County. The lot is located adjacent to property owned by the lake district. The long term intent for use of this property is to maintain the property in its natural condition and preserve natural shoreland habitat. The property will be managed in accordance with the management plan contained in the project application. A deed restriction including the following language must be inserted in the deed: By acceptance of this deed, the sponsor, for itself and its successors and assigns, hereby covenants and agrees not to sell, lease, assign or mortgage the premises herein described without the prior written approval of the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, his designee, or any successor and the rights herein conveyed are subject to the interests of the State under the lake management grant program, s. 281.69 & 281.71, Statues., and NR 191 Wis. Admin. Code. Property Legal Description: Lot 77, Park Addition in the Village of Balsam Lake, Polk County, Wisconsin.
