“The diatom community indicates that there has been a small decrease in water clarity in both of the lakes over the last 100 years. The decline has been greater in Bass Lake. This likely is the result of small increases in phosphorus levels.” Lakes Planning Report

The Long and Bass Lake Association will conduct a project, which will be the preliminary steps to a Comprehensive Lake Management Plan. The project will be used to conduct a property owner survey, for the development of a feasibility and action plan for a comprehensive lakes plan, will communicate critical shoreline issues and water quality issues to the lake residents, and enhance the leadership and knowledge of the lakes association leadership. A sediment core sample will also be completed for a historical view of the lake. Deliverables: 1. Information and Education through Association meetings and newsletters regarding findings of project 2. Sending one representative to Lake Leaders Institute. 3. Sending representatives to the WAL convention.
