TOWN OF STELLA: Town of Stella Land Use Plan

Purpose

The Town of Stella will sponsor this project which will complete a portion of a comprehensive land use plan. The focus of the work will be on demographics, natural resources and land use planning. The Town will focus land use planning around conversion of agriculture uses to residential land. A secondary issue will begin to address the connection between land use and lakes. Deliverables include a land use plan, public informational meetings and a land use plan in poster format. In the land use plan there will be maps of environmentally sensitive areas, watershed boundaries, existing and future land use, floodplains, wetlands, public land, soils and water resources in the Town. These maps will be electronic GIS based data sets that will be available for future planning efforts. All final reports will provided to the Department in both hard copy and electronic format. * A detailed summary of how the project results are related to lakes and how the project will be used in relation to lakes must be submitted.
