Purpose
The Town of Cloverland is sponsoring an AIS Education Prevention & Planning project which will focus on increasing AIS public awareness and preventing the introduction of AIS into Cloverland's "clean lakes" and stopping EWM from leaving Boot Lake.
Project activities include:
1) Recruit volunteers and implement a Clean Boats/Clean Water program at 4 public landings from May-October 2006
2) Hire an AIS Coordinator (primary duties listed on pg 17 of proposal)
3) Deliver suspect AIS to WDNR
4) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 onto Dept website by Coordinator
5) Announce grant approval, project description and final results in local newspaper
6) Develop a preliminary AIS plan for 2007
Project deliverables include:
- Completed entry of inspection forms 3200-120 onto Dept website
- Two local newspaper articles
- Approximately 160 hours of volunteer time per landing (Boot, Pickerel, Muskellunge, and Snipe)
- Informational packets developed
- Position description of AIS Coordinator
- Final report (contents listed on pg 18 of proposal)
Specific conditions for this project:
- Final report needs Dept review and approval
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report and deliverable listed above.
