BUGHS LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Bughs Lake HWM Management

Purpose
The Bughs Lake Management District is sponsoring an AIS control grant for Bughs Lake in Waushara County. The goal of the project is to reduce to the maximum extent possible Hybrid EWM - AIS populations within the system. The project objectives / activities are as follows: 1. Pre and two post plant point intercept surveys 2. Whole-lake fluridone slow release pellet treatment at 16PPB. 3.Maintain 2-4 PPB within the treatment areas for 120 days with a potential bump application if levels drop below 3 P 4.Residual herbicide monitoring 5.Full point-intercept plant surveys pre and post-treatment 6.Assist Golden Sands Clean Boats / Clean Waters program 7.Scuba diver assisted harvesting of EWM 8.Management report to quantify results, make future recommendations. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional lake coordinator. Final plan needs Department review and approval.
