IRON RIVER PIKE CHAIN OF LAKES ASSOCIATION: Pike Chain of Lakes EWM Control: 2015

Purpose

Iron River Pike Chain of Lakes Association is sponsoring a one-year maintenance & containment project to implement their approved aquatic plant management plan. Activities include: Eurasian watermilfoil chemical control and manual removal; native aquatic plant restoration and monitoring; purple loosestrife monitoring; a decontamination partnership with a local car wash, and reporting. Final deliverables include: submission of all collected data; native plant restoration and decontamination results reports. Special Conditions: The originally proposed native plant restoration monitoring may be scaled back in order to expand lake- or chain-wide EWM and native plant monitoring with the Lake Coordinator\2019s approval. This scope does not supersede or negate activities described in the grant application and proposal.

Final Report for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Grant ACEI-169-15 - June 2017

EWM was first documented in the Pike Chain of Lakes in 2004, with plants being discovered first in the channel between Twin Bear and Hart Lake. Treatment was applied and and EWM was monitored in order to create a treatment plan and management options for the future.
