COLUMBIA COUNTY: Park Lake Watershed/Fox River Monitoring

Purpose

Scope: This grant is to refine knowledge of watershed nutrient contributions via the two major branches of the Fox River draining to Park Lake to help complete the concurrent management plan. (An additional grant to continue this work for one more season will be requested). WAV volunteer monitoring of streams will be set up in the watershed, along with collection of baseline data to determine nutrient loading from the sub-basins. Data will be used to write the lake management plan. Deliverables: The final report for this grant will summarize what was done and contain all raw data collected; the second grant to follow will have a full evaluation of the data. Plans are to arrange media coverage and a pre-project presentation/workshop, write a project summary report, public meeting to share phase 1 summary, show how/where the data are used in developing the management plan, and summarize the setup of the WAV monitoring.
