GEORGE LAKE REHABILITATION DISTRICT: LMI - George Lake Water Quality Improvement Projects

Purpose

George Lake Rehabilitation District is sponsoring a project to implement best management practices to reduce sediment and nutrient loading to George Lake. An inlet restoration project, wetland basin modification project, and a vegetated filter strip project will be implemented on land owned by third parties. Specific project activities include: 1) Development of bid ready plans and specifications for three projects; 2) Construction and implementation of a project to restore the banks of an inlet channel; 3) Modification of a wetland to filter runoff; 4) installation of a filter strip to filter runoff; and 5) securement of landowner agreements for installed practices. Project final deliverables include: 1) electronic copies of all final construction plans and specifications; 2) a photo essay for each of the projects showing before, during and after construction; 3) a final report describing the issues resolved by installation of the three projects and 4) copies of the recorded landowner agreements for all installed practices. Specific project conditions: 1)The operation and maintenance period for the inlet restoration project and wetland basin modification project is 25 years. The operation and maintenace period for the vegetated filter strip practice is 10 years; 2) A draft copy of the final report will be provided to the WDNR for review before the report is finalized. WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of data and reports/plans generated as a result of this project. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
