TOWN OF THREE LAKES: AIS Education, Prevention & Planning Project

Purpose

The Town of Three Lakes is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention & Planning grant to be completed by December 31, 2007. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring. Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and implement a Clean Boat/Clean Water program at town landings 2) Hire an AIS coordinator 3) Conduct AIS citizen lake monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines (Adopt-A-Shoreline) 4) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website 5) Develop AIS educational materials (banners, placemats, packets, bookmarks, and informational markers) 6) Install AIS kiosks Project deliverables include: 1) Completed entry of inspection 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website 2) AIS educational materials (banners, placemats, packets, bookmarks and informational markers) 3) AIS kiosks 4) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities and AIS monitoring Specific Conditions for this project: - Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, photographs of AIS kiosks and samples of AIS educational materials.
