Purpose
Manitowoc County Lake Association proposes to conduct education, prevention and planning activities to control and prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) into and from Manitowoc County and Silver Lake during the period 2008 - 2010. The project elements and deliverables are specified in Manitowoc County Lake Association's Aquatic Invasive Species Grant application, dated January 30, 2008. The project includes developing a comprehensive AIS plan addressing elements of prevention, control, monitoring, policy development, research, education/information, coordination and county wide integration; conducting bus tours and educational activities to train volunteers in monitoring and prevention methods; and identifying opportunities for county integration of AIS prevention activities on near-by lakes, highway departments and Woodland Dunes Nature Center. Silver Lake aquatic plant restoration activities will be reported to the DNR. Annual progress reports and a final report summarizing the three-year project will be provided to DNR. SCOPE AMENDMENT TO INCLUDE CARSTENS LAKE APM PLAN.
If consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended the Grantee provide the DNR Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to, submission of grantee's final payment request.Related Reports
