SAWYER COUNTY LAKES FORUM: AIS Prevention Project

Purpose

Sawyer County Lakes Forum will sponsor a project to increase awareness about aquatic invasive species (AIS) and encourage action to prevent their spread. Permanent and portable signs will be constructed and made available. Project goals include: increase awareness about aquatic invasive species (AIS) in Sawyer County; encourage action to prevent their spread; permanent and portable signs will be constructed and made available. Project deliverables include: 1) Installation of signs throughout the county and use portable signs to further educate the public; 2) Location and placement of signs. Specific conditions for this Project: WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of all data and or reports/plans generated as a result of this project; Persons posting signs will be required to obtain the necessary permits; Work with Kristi Maki (Sawyer County IS Coordinator) in the publicity and distribution of signs; Contact Christal Campbell (608-266-0061) and Erin Henegar (715-346-4978) prior to constructing signs to make sure a consistent message is being sent.
