VILLAGE OF PLOVER: Little Plover River Watershed Enhancement Project

Purpose

Sponsor: Village of Plover Project: Little Plover River Watershed Enhancement Project Purpose: This project will implement restoration of approximately 1300 ft stream channel and 7 acres of floodplain forest, conduct initial stages of implementation for additional projects, outreach to identify willing landowners, hydrologic analysis of potential benefits to the river, and site-specific concept designs.. Project activities include: \2022 Floodplain forest restoration \2022 Brush bundling to narrow river \2022 Contact and recruit private landowners to participate in restoration \2022 Provide analysis of irrigation on groundwater flows to the river \2022 Flow monitoring to evaluate efficacy of BMP\2019s. \2022 Develop model to quantify and track restoration actions Project deliverables: All data collected, all outreach and event materials, agendas and minutes from meetings. Specifically: \2022 Physical stream improvements \2022 Modeling to determine irrigation impacts on groundwater flow to river \2022 Long-term monitoring plan \2022 Develop groundwater use scenarios for landowners Special conditions: WDNR River Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of all data and maps from the project. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lakes Coordinator.
