TROUT UNLIMITED INC: Rock Creek at Forest Road 2131 Aquatic Organism Passage

Purpose

Trout Unlimited is sponsoring a project to replace a perched, high velocity culvert at the Forest Road 2131 - Rock Creek crossing with a structure that is conducive to aquatic organism passage. Project activities include 1) Design a new road stream crossing structure that will reconnect habitat for trout and other aquatic organisms; 2) Remove culvert and replace the structure at Forest Road 2131; 3) Conduct the Great Lakes Road Stream Crossing Inventory Assessment after construction to evaluate the new structure for fish passage, velocity, flow, and bed composition; and 4) Summarize the project in a final report. Project deliverables include: a final report that includes final designs, assessment information, and pre/post site photos. Specific project conditions: All necessary permits shall be obtained prior to commencing work. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. The grant sponsor shall submit all data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lakes Biologist. DNR is to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
