Purpose
The Town of Presque Isle, Vilas County, is sponsoring an AIS grant which will focus on AIS education, prevention, and monitoring.
Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and expand current CB/CW program at town landings; 2) Recruit volunteers and begin AIS monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines; 3) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website; 4) Construct 8 kiosks and install at busiest public landings in Presque Isle; 5) Educational efforts including education/information forums, children's story hour, media releases, and presentations; 6) Conduct a CB/CW and AIS monitoring workshop; 7) Develop final report.
Project deliverables include: 1) Completed entry of inspection Form 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website; 2) AIS kiosks and photos; 3) Educational efforts and media releases; 4) 75 CB/CW hours; 5) 75 AIS monitoring hours; 6) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring, educational activities, media releases, and kiosk activities.
