SILVER LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: 2022-2023 HWM Integrated Pest Management Program

Purpose

The Silver Lake Management District is sponsoring a grant to implement a Hybrid Water Milfoil Integrated Pest Management Program for Silver Lake in Waushara County. Project final deliverables include: All data collected, agendas and minutes for planning meetings, and a final report that includes methodologies, results, and a management alternatives discussion with recommendations for future management. Specific project activities include: 1) HWM plant surveys and mapping; 2) HWM hand harvesting and DASH control; 3) Assessment of HWM control strategy based on pre-determined success criteria: 4) Conduct annual point intercept surveys to compare and contrast aquatic plant populations; 5) Create annual project reports; 6) Inform and educate lake stakeholders about project results. Special Conditions: All DASH activities require a department permit prior to initiating control efforts. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft of annual / final reports for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant.
