CITY OF GREENFIELD: RES - Honey Creek Headwaters Streambank Stabilization

Purpose

The City of Greenfield is undertaking activities restore channel dimensions, floodplain connectivity, and install stream habitat structures in the headwaters of Honey Creek in Milwaukee County. Project final deliverables include: 1.) A submittal to the Department in written and electronic form summarizing activities completed under this grant Specific project activities include: 1.) Clear and grub existing woody debris, excavate new channel with meanders and pools. 2.) Install in-stream habitat structures in accordance with activities outlined in the City of Greenfield\2019s Surface Water Grant Application 3.) Conduct floodplain improvements on approximately 6.36 acres in accordance with activities outlined in the City\2019s application. 4.) Utilizing native plantings and integrated bank treatments, stabilize streambanks within the project area. 5.) Provide to the Department a written summary of activities conducted under this project, including; before and after project photos, number and description of in-stream structures installed, length of established new channel, a summary description of floodplain improvements, a summary of any public outreach undertaken to promote the project, and a calculation summary of TSS and Phosphorus reductions due to the project. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional River Biologist.
