TROUT UNLIMITED INC: McDonald Creek at Parkway Road Aquatic Habitat Reconnection Project

Purpose

Trout Unlimited is sponsoring a project that will implement a Coldwater habitat connectivity project on McDonald Creek in Oconto county. The project will replace an undersized and perched culvert with a new crossing structure that will benefit native Brook Trout and other aquatic organism passage. Specific project activities include: 1) Complete final design plans for crossing at Parkway Road 2) Remove old perched and undersized crossing 3) install new crossing using stream simulation design methods Project final deliverables include: Final design plans, pre/post photographs of crossing, and a final summary report will be provided comparing pre-post construction fish passage scores, velocity, flows, and bed compositions. Specific conditions: 1) Culvert removal and new crossing installation shall follow all erosion control BMP\2019s and time of year restrictions to protect the resource. 2) All waterway permits must be issued before construction and all regulatory requirements apply. 3) The DNR logo shall be used for promotion and publicity and DNR recognized as a funding source.
