THREE LAKES WATERFRONT ASSOCIATION: Three Lakes Management Planning - Long Lake Phase II

Purpose

Three Lakes Waterfront Association is sponsoring 8 large scale lake planning grants to study 4 lakes in the Three Lakes Chain, in Oneida County. This project scope is for Long Lake and the activities listed for this project will be the same for all 4 lakes in this project. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Long Lake and conducting AIS education, prevention and monitoring activities. Phase 2 Project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 stakeholder survey analysis and newsletters; 2) Water quality sampling analysis (secchi, P, Chla, N, conductivity, pH, total Alk, total suspended solids, calcium, DO, and temp); 3) EWM peak biomass survey; 4) Professional Dreissena monitoring; 5) Distribute AIS education materials and hire 2 AIS coordinators; 6) Develop LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey and newsletter articles; 2) AIS educational materials; 3) Hired coordinators; 4) Water quality data; 5) LMP and AIS final report. Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey should be submitted to Lakes Management Coordinator for review before sending to public; 2) LMP and AIS final report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of LMP, AIS final report, stakeholder survey, AIS educational materials samples, newsletter articles, water quality data, all GIS data, and all maps from project.
