TUG LAKE DISTRICT: Tug Lake Comprehensive Management Plan Development

Purpose

The Tug Lake District (TLD) is sponsoring a project which will focus on filling gaps in water quality data for the lake, working with farmers to create/update nutrient management plans, and creating a water quality focused lake management plan (LMP) for Tug Lake. Activities: 1) Analyze and incorporate algae, water chemistry, and water level data into the lake nutrient budget report; 2) Collaborate with watershed farmers to create or update nutrient management plans; 3) Develop a LMP. Deliverables: 1) Updated algae and water quality data; 2) Updated agricultural nutrient management plan(s); 3) A completed LMP. Conditions: 1) All water quality monitoring shall follow DNR protocols. 2) Data for temperature/dissolved oxygen profiles and Secchi depths should be entered into the DNR SWIMS database. 3) DNR Lake Biologist will be provided with a copy of presentations, reports and/or management plans; 4) DNR Lake Biologist will be invited to management planning meetings. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify. If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. Include electronic copy of the final report along with or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
