Purpose
The Manitowish Waters Lake Association (MWLA) is sponsoring a project to implement actions contained in the 2019 comprehensive management plan to assess the current aquatic plant community, support volunteer monitoring for AIS and public information on lake-related issues in Little Star Lake.
Activities: 1) Conduct PI survey 2) measure the population of EWM using a late season AIS survey 3) AIS early detection surveys and continued monitoring for PL and SWF 4) partner with the North Lakeland Discovery Center (NLDC) to provide educational and outreach opportunities, monitoring workshops, and other AIS information 5) CBCW 6) Data entry into swims 7) Update APM Plan
Deliverables: 1) monitoring data 2) annual summary of volunteer, educational, and outreach efforts 3) CBCW 4) APM Plan
Conditions:
1) Enter data collected into SWIMS database under the grant project number
2) APM Plan Update needs Dept review and approval
This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. Include electronic copy of the final report along with or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
