NORTH LAKELAND DISCOVERY CENTER: Manitowish Chain of Lakes EDR Project - Phase 1

Purpose

North Lakeland Discovery Center is sponsoring an AIRR project which will focus on surveying and mapping CLP and managing up to 27 acres of CLP in Island Lake, Spider Lake, and Rice Creek, Vilas County. Project activities include: 1) Conduct pre/post treatment and peak-biomass surveys; 2) Control CLP by chemical treatments; 3) Develop letter reports. Project deliverables include: 1) Aquatic plant survey data and maps; 2) Annual letter report describing the findings of the pre/post treatment and peak-biomass surveys and guidance for continued control actions. Specific conditions for this project: Annual letter report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of letter reports, all maps, and all aquatic plant and GIS data.
