MT. MORRIS LAKES MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Mt. Morris AIS Control/Prevention

Purpose

The Mount Morris Lakes Management District is sponsoring a four-year AIS control and prevention project with goals to initiate/continue herbicide application strategies to control both CLP and EWM and to initiate CBCW watercraft inspection efforts. Project activities include: Annual chemical treatments of CLP and residual monitoring; Annual chemical treatments of EWM and residual monitoring; Annual Pre and Post treatment monitoring and analysis; PI surveys and aquatic plant community mapping; Early season AIS survey; Summer EWM peak-biomass mapping survey; Update the current Mount Morris Lake Aquatic Plant Management Plan; Develop annual project report and a final report. Stakeholder participation: Volunteer herbicide concentration monitoring, CBCW training and inspections, Annual volunteer AIS monitoring, planning committee meeting. Project deliverables include: annual progress and final reports of monitoring and management activities, including aquatic plant survey spreadsheets and pre/post treatment monitoring, any educational materials developed, and an updated Aquatic Plant Management Plan. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional lake coordinator. Final report needs Department review and approval.
