PORTERS LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Porter's Lake EWM Rapid Response

Purpose

Porters Lake Management District is sponsoring a Rapid Response Grant to manage a new infestation of Eurasian water milfoil in Porters Lake, Waushara County. Major components of this work include: 1. Chain-wide assessment of EWM while plant is at peak biomass 2. Creation of treatment strategy for the following year building on successes and failures documented from previous treatments 3. Verification and refinement of herbicide treatment plan immediately before treatments are implemented 4. Completion of herbicide treatments and hand removal efforts 5. Assessment of control program Project Deliverables 1. Annual spring pretreatment conformation and refinement survey 2. Annual treatment report a. Maps detailing survey findings b. Guidance for the following springs control strategy targeting EWM 3. Stakeholder Participation a. Volunteer efforts and AIS surveillance monitoring entered into SWIMS b.
