BOHNERS LAKE SANITARY DISTRICT: Sediment Movement Study

Purpose

Eight sets of samples will be taken at the Bohners Lake inlet. Samples will be analyzed for total mass weight, particle size analysis and percent organic matter. A stream flow measurement will be taken on each of the eight sampling dates. The samples will be taken with a Helley Smith Sampler. Three sets of samples will be taken under baseflow conditions and five will be taken during storm events. The project deliverable will be a report containing 1) all of the data collected (flow, total mass weight, particle size analysis and percent organic matter) for each of the eight sampling dates and 2) calculations and discussion of the total mass of material moving down the stream on an annual basis. Two paper copies and one electronic copy of the report will be provided to the DNR before the project can be closed out.
