DOOR COUNTY: Hibbards Creek Groundwater Protection

Purpose

To cost-share installation of manure management systems in response to existing overflows of agricultural runoff containing nutrients, bacteria and other pathogenic organisms affecting Hibbards Creek and the Upper Door County Watershed and to address violations of the NR 151 Agricultural Performance Standards and Prohibitions relating to: manure storage facilities-new/significant alterations, manure storage facilities-existing failing/leaking, clean water diversions, prevention of overflow from manure storage facilities, prevention of unconfined manure piles in water quality management areas, and prevention of direct runoff from a feedlot or stored manure into waters of the state.

Specifically, the grantee will implement: manure storage facilities-new/significant alterations, manure storage facilities-existing failing/leaking, clean water diversions, prevention of overflow from manure storage facilities, prevention of unconfined manure piles in water quality management areas, and prevention of direct runoff from a feedlot or stored manure.
