WASHINGTON COUNTY: Butzlaff Barnyard Runoff Management

Purpose

Cost-share efforts by the heifer raising operation within the East Branch Rock River TMDL to control agricultural nonpoint sources of pollution through the installation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) targeting sediment and nutrient loading and to address violations of the NR 151 Agricultural Performance Standards and Prohibitions relating to: sheet, rill and wind erosion; phosphorus index; nutrient management; and, prevention of direct runoff from a feedlot or stored manure into waters of the state.
