MARINETTE COUNTY: Marinette County Aquatic Invasive Species Study

Purpose

The County is planning to create a Geographic Information System Layer (GIS) containing all the boat landings in Marinette County showing the presence of exotic species. The county will be visiting all the landings and determine the presence of exotic species. The coordinates will be recorded with GPS equipment and a GIS layer will be developed showing all Marinette County Lakes as well as boundary waters. ARC/INFO will be used in the process of developing tables of boat landings that indicate presence of exotic species. The county will be will be working with various partners to control exotic species. Educational information will be developed to inform the public about exotic species and prevention of their proliferation. The data and final report will be available on CD, via email and hard copy.
