ADAMS COUNTY: Big Spring Creek Restoration

Purpose

Adams Co., in conjunction with Wis. DNR, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, River Alliance of Wisconsin, USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, Trout Unlimited and the Fish America Foundation, proposes to remove a deteriorated, former Hydro electric dam on Big Spring Creek and to restore the creek to a riverine environment. Major project elements to include: 1) dam breach, dewatering of impoundment, removal of dam, 2) floodplain excavation, 3) channel restoration and bank revegetation, 4) culvert replacement.
