TOWN OF WASCOTT: Cranberry Lake EWM Rapid Response

Purpose

The Town of Wascott in partnership with the Cranberry Lake Association is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Rapid Response (RR) project. The project will focus on eliminating a pioneering population of Eurasian watermilfoil scattered throughout the lake. Project activities include: 1) A whole-lake point-intercept survey 2) SCUBA and manual removal of Eurasian watermilfoil and monitoring 3) Possible chemical treatments, under the guidance of WDNR Project deliverables include: 1) Final report describing the findings of the surveys and treatment tools, GPS locations, and guidance for continued control actions. Specific conditions for this project: - Final report needs Dept review and approval Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Coordinator. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report.

Update on Eurasian Water Milfoil in Cranberry Lake - Grant # AIRR-027-08

Eurasian Water Milfoil was found in Cranberry Lake in 2006. In 2006 the property owners of Cranberry Lake joined together to form THE CRANBERRY LAKE / FLOWAGE ASSOCIATION. The task the Association took on, was to eliminate and control the existing aquatic invasive species, Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) and to do whatever they could to stop the spread of Eurasian Water Milfoil.
