GORDON/ST. CROIX FLOWAGE ASSOCIATION: Gordon-St. Croix Flowage CLP/EWM AIS Education Project

Purpose

The Gordon-St. Croix Flowage Association is sponsoring an AIS prevention and education project. Project activities include: 1) Clean Boat/Clean Water program on the flowage; 2) Public Outreach and Education about AIS; 3) Aquatic plant survey and mapping; 4) Water quality, level, and flow assessment; 5) AIS control; 6) Wild Rice survey; 7) APM plan. Deliverables include: 1) Final Report summarizing project accomplishments including watercraft inspections and a lake monitoring report detailing total time and number of people reached; 2) CB/CW survey results; daily results will be entered into the DNR CB/CW database; 3) Report on outreach projects/presentations/lake fairs including copies of press releases, newsletters, and distributed materials; 4) Results of Aquatic Plant Surveys with maps, AIS locations, and results of Aquatic Plant Vouchers; 5) Results of water quality analysis, water level evaluation, and water flow analysis; 6) AIS control activities including diver removal, chemical, and biological control; 7) EWM seed bank analysis; 8) Wild Rice survey; 9) An Aquatic Plant Management Plan; 10) AIS related materials generated or paid for by this grant. Special project conditions: WDNR\2019s Aquatic Plant Management in Wisconsin guidance must be followed for point-intercept survey monitoring and/or aquatic plant management plan development. The project sponsor shall immediately contact the DNR in the event a new aquatic invasive species infestation. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional AIS Coordinator. It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR with a draft final report.
