VILAS COUNTY: PREV-Vilas County 2025 Priority AIS Prevention Project

Purpose

The Vilas County Land & Water Conservation Department is sponsoring a project to continue to contain priority invasive species. Activities: 1) offering hot water pressure washing at strategically selected boat landings 2) working with the local CISMA, Wisconsin Headwater Invasives Partnership (WHIP), to do more outreach on invasive non-native Phragmites, knotweeds, and purple loosestrife; and 3) provide assistance to the Eagle River Chain for CBCW inspections. Deliverables: 1) CBCW inspection data entered into SWIMS and a final report of decontamination programming, 2) A final report that summarizes trainings, workshops, educational event(s), and engagement with local volunteers. Report should include includes attendance sheets, list or number of landowners, copy of slide deck(s), decontamination flyer, copy of letter to landowners, and other outreach materials created. Conditions: All outreach and education materials shall use DNR messaging; DNR Biologist review and approval is required before dissemination. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
