UPPER SUGAR RIVER WATERSHED ASSOCIATION: Planning for the Management of Non-native Phragmites in the Cherokee Marsh

Purpose

The Upper Sugar River Watershed Association is sponsoring a project to write an adaptive management plan to guide multiple property managers to facilitate monitoring and control of non-native phragmites in Cherokee Marsh. Activities: 1) Map non-native phragmites population in Cherokee Marsh 2) Communications to private landowners 3) Create draft of adaptive management plan 4) Land manager and landowner meeting for review of draft adaptive management plan 5) Complete public comment period 6) Create final adaptive management plan Deliverables: 1) Maps of non-native phragmites population in Cherokee Marsh 2) Documentation of communications to private landowners 3) Any written agreements with private landowners 4) Draft adaptive management plan 5) Summary of meeting dates and attendees 6) Summary of feedback from land manager and landowner meeting 7) Summary of public comments 8) Final adaptive management plan Conditions: 1) Provide DNR Biologist with draft version of the adaptive management plan for review. 2) Invite DNR Biologist to land manager and landowner meeting for review of draft adaptive management plan. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
