VILLAGE OF DEFOREST: RES - Yahara River Streambank Stabilization - Phase 2

Purpose

The Village of DeForest is sponsoring a project to address streambank erosion to enhance the ecological integrity of the Yahara River corridor between Indigo Drive/Bluestem Trail and Innovation Drive. Activities: 1) Obtain necessary permits and approvals 2) Use bioengineering to stabilize the streambank 3) Revegetate the streambanks with native seed 4) Conduct water quality monitoring 5) Monitor the site for at least 2 years post-construction. Deliverables: 1) Copies of permits and approvals 2) Before and after photos of streambank stabilization 3) Before and after photos of native seeding, and a list of native plantings 4) Water quality monitoring data and summary report, including a comparison of pre- and post- data. Conditions: 1) Do not duplicate scope of work defined and funded under grant TUC13118Y25. 2) Enter into land use agreements for lands not owned by Grantee and provide copy of agreement recorded at the County Register of Deeds office. 3) Provide 20-year operation and maintenance plan recorded on the property deed. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify. If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. Include electronic copy of the final report along with or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
