JACKSON COUNTY: Antal Barnyard Runoff

Purpose

To cost-share installation of manure management systems in response to existing overflows of agricultural runoff containing nutrients, bacteria and other pathogenic organisms affecting Mill Creek and to address violations of the NR 151 Agricultural Performance Standards and Prohibitions relating to: prevention of direct runoff from a feedlot or stored manure into waters of the state. Amendment No. 1 increases the cost-share rate to a hardship rate of 85% and increases the grant amount to the maximum of $150,000. It also funds the repair of damage done to the project by the rain storm of Oct. 5-6, 2013, as the project was nearing completion.
