RUSK COUNTY LAND CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT: LCO-Rusk Co Lake Prot Ord Dev Proj

Purpose

Rusk County Land & Water Conservation Department proposes to evaluate its shoreland zoning regulations and administration/enforcement procedures and recommend ordinance revisions and procedural improvements. In conjunction, it will implement a countywide education and information program on shoreland and land management practices including on-site technical assistance to local property owners. Deliverables will include: 1) a description and evaluation of the county's shoreland protection program; 2) a description of the educational strategy and copies of printed information and education materials; 3) proposed and final recommendations for improved lake and shoreland management including revised shoreland ordinances, and other regulations protecting lakes; 4) a log of local technical assistance provided; 5) progress report at 12 months describing the status of the above deliverables; 6) a final report summarizing the project's development and achievements including final deliverables. Electronic copies will be made available upon request of all final reports and maps.
