Lake Holcombe Improvement Association Inc.: Holcombe Ewm '09: The Lake Holcombe Improvement Association proposes to contract for chemical treatment to control Eurasian Watermilfoil investation in an approx. 10-acre area of Pine Lake, an off-shoot of the Holcombe Flowage in Chippewa County. Other major project elements include hand-pulling in selected areas and Clean Boats Clean Waters outreach, all to be conducted by association volunteers.

Price County: Lmi-Phase Ii Butternut Wq Assessment/Modeling: The Price County Land Conservation Dept will sponsor a project which will collect all needed data to create a response model for Butternut Lake including a water budget, detailed phosphorus budget, lake water quality modeling and evaluation of groundwater impacts. Deliverables will include all data collected and a final report summarizing the findings.
DNR will be provided with a copy of reports and publications produced in both written and electronic (PDF) format. DNR will also be provided with a summary of all the efforts under this grant that are not included in reports or other written documents.

City Of Ladysmith: Res-Corbett Lake Aeration Project: The City of Ladysmith will conduct an improvement project on Corbett Lake, which lies within the corporate limits of the city. This project involves the installation of a system of bottom aerators in the lake. Bottom aerators would be installed at 11 locations in the eastern half of the lake basin. Compressors would be located within Falge Park, which is located along the northern shoreline of Corbett Lake. The park is owned and operated by the City of Ladysmith.
A special condition of this grant project is that the installation and operation of this aeration system must comply with all conditions of the water regulation permit issued by this department for the aeration system.
The City of Ladysmith shall notify the Department of Natural Resources upon completion of the installation of the aeration system.

Price County: Shoreline Protection & Restoration Through Education: Price County LCD will sponsor a project to educate property owners on the value of maintaining and restoring natural shorelines. This project is crucial in protecting natural resources (fish and wildlife habitat) and reducing the impact on our surface waters caused by development.
The project includes the following goals: 1) Create "Caring for our Shorelines," a property owners guide to shoreline protection; 2) In cooperation with the Price County Waterway Association and others, develop additional educational/informational marketing strategies and distribute "Caring for our Shorelines"; 3) Establish "Shoreline Friends" program, mailing informational packet to new waterfront property owners or distribution via lake and river groups; 4) Assist property owners with the development of shoreline restoration plans; 5) Monitor shoreline restoration sites; 6) In cooperation with the LCD, continue to implement cost sharing foe shoreline restoration; 7) Continue general shoreline protection information/education program by developing training sessions for landscape contractors and material suppliers to educate them on shoreline protection and restoration.
Project deliverables include: 1) Create "Caring for our Shorelines," a property owners guide to shoreline protection; 2) Develop "Shoreline Friends" program and informational packet; 3) Assist approximately 25 shoreline restoration sites each year in Price County; 4) Host workshops for landscapers and other contractors working with shoreline protection and restoration; 5) Final report summarizing the activities and accomplishments of the project.
