This project will complete a Smart Growth compliant plan for the Township of Manitowish Waters. Specifically, this grant will cover portions of the agricultural/natural resources/cultural, internal governmental, land use, and implementation strategy elements. Specific deliverables for this grant project include: 1. A comprehensive plan document 2. Report maps including: A. Natural and Cultural Resource maps including delineation of environmental corridors, fish & wildlife habitat, unique features/scenic view areas, and land and resource protection areas. B. Transportation C. Vegetative cover types D. Utilities and service area maps E. Surface water data maps including drainage ways, floodplain/shoreland zoning areas, wetlands, and watershed boundaries F. Existing land use G. Existing zoning H. Year 2021 Preferred Land Uses 3. Presentation materials for information and education The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the comprehensive plan report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and/or local newspaper articles.
