POST LAKES P & R DISTRICT: Natural Shoreland & Habitat Project

Purpose

This project will implement one of the recommendations of the Post Lakes Management Plan. The project will include development of a long-term project to support and encourage shoreland buffers and restoration of shoreland properties. The project also includes the restoration of 6 lots as education demonstration sites. Deliverables include: 1. Development of a Natural Shorelands and Habitat Committee including DNR and County representatives to guide the development of a pilot project. 2. Development of a long-term project guide including training of volunteers to complete site assessments and an education plan. 3. Site analysis and design for 6 parcels including restoration of these sites. The DNR will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. Information will be disseminated to the public as described in the grant application.
